That’s a wrap y’all! Fall came and went at the hurried pace at which it’s accustom to. I swear that once Halloween hits, it’s a rapid spiral to Christmas. Then the New Year hits and we wait out the winter, wondering when it will stop getting dark so early, temps will stop being frigid and our beloved leaves will return. Let’s face it, although we Georgians might complain about the heat all of the time, deep down I think we truly love it! If we’re not sweating, what are we really doing?
I started mini sessions much earlier this year. I wanted to avoid the last minute frenzy of everyone needing their photos done in November. I incentivized these summer minis- you got ten files to choose from instead of the standard 5. That enticed some of you, but not as many as I had hoped. The November schedule was still jam packed, but that’s ok cause we got it all done!
I offered two mini session dates a month from August-November and I’ll plan to do that again in 2024. I need to be sure to leave plenty of time available for those who prefer a full session, which is why I’ve kept the mini dates to two a month. What’s the difference between a full and mini session you wonder? While I might be able to create quite a bit of content in 20 minutes of shooting, what 20 minutes will never be able to fully provide is the experience I strive to give everyone. I want anyone who shoots with me to feel like they weren’t just having photos taken. Instead, I hope they feel like they’ve just shared an outdoor adventure with the people they love most- playing and exploring, being silly, laughing and smiling. I’ll bring a small activity to engage everyone and, if time allows, end with a treat for everyone to enjoy. I will be the ringleader of our traveling circus and make it my duty to entertain, instigate fun and intervene when drama strikes- whatever I can do to make life easier on parents while ensuring I still get the shots I want.
Of course the big obvious difference between the two sessions, besides my time and attention, is the amount of files you walk away with! No need to choose just 5 with a full session. Instead, take ALL of them and use them however you wish. Personally, I make a book of the sessions I book for my own family and it’s often that I sit down and open those to reflect on those times. I am SO glad I took those pictures, spent the money, bought the clothes and made it happen. I’ll cherish those images and books always.
With all that being said, I want to be sure to mention how grateful I am for everyone choosing a mini session at das Hinterhaus. It was a huge, sweaty, physically exhausting labor of love to have it built this summer, then stained and painted at the height of a hot Georgia summer. I sweat my body weight getting all that done & quite literally hung from the rafters. When it was all finished, I knew all my mini sessions would be held there cause I was too damn tired to consider anything else, lol! Thank you for making all that manual labor worth it!
To sign off, I’ll say thank you for an amazing 2023! I couldn’t make this happen without all of you. I am so grateful. Wishing all of you a very healthy and prosperous 2024.
PS- If you have worked with me in the past and have not done so already, I would love, love, love for you to leave me a google review. I know it takes a bit of your time, so I thank you so very much in advance!!
